What To Do When There’s Nothing To Fix?

Break something…

Destroy it…

Crack it just enough that it requires your attention…

And now you have something to do, something to think about, some obstacle to overcome.

I don’t like going negative like this, but it has to be said.

How long do you want to be stuck in this torment, in this false reality, where you are always seen as broken and incomplete?

You can’t be ‘fixed’, because there’s nothing wrong with who you are.

It’s a terror and when it gets its teeth into you, your going to hurt.

Well, if you are lucky someone comes along and frees you from the chains of this delusion.

I’m going to say it, you can’t change, you don’t change.

You can transform your relationship to reality.

You can arrive at a new state of seeing, of being, of understanding.

But you don’t change.

But back to getting somewhere, to actually arriving.

I am going to seem a little all over the place, but stay with me.

Take a look at this list.

Right now, it’s the best I have for playing with this concept of arriving vs. ‘you’ve got to love the process, the journey’…

  • Eating pizza…
  • Eating sushi…
  • Watching a movie…

Go to college, get a job, work hard, keep your head down, obey the law, stay out of trouble, get married, save for 50 years, retire, then…

  • Freedom…
  • Traveling the world…
  • Living an adventurous life…
  • Starting a new business… Leaving an old business…
  • Breaking up with a lover…
  • Searching for the perfect romance…
  • Living a lifestyle of great well being…
  • Learning to paint, to play, to create…

Arrival vs. Journey…

The result vs the process...

Now, when you read that, when you thought about it you probably recognized somethings as events and as arrivals.

You eat a pizza, you watch a movie, you leave a job… These are clearly arrivals and events.

But what about freedom, what about traveling the world…

…searching for the perfect romance?

What if those are also a place to arrive and thus a place to live life from as a way of being as opposed to a process or an eternal journey.

The transformation exists in your way of being, it’s a transformation at a fundamental level.

What has happened here is subtle, so I am going to shine a light on it.

The two perspectives I spoke of are now contained within one being.

The person who accepts the truth that everything is for ever changing and new, can also live as the person who has attained the serenity and security, of a way of being which is rooted and grounded in truth.

Imagine that for yourself.

When you want to eat pizza, you don’t need to change your entire life, you don’t need to become someone different, you don’t have to transform the entire world.

There is no ruminating about the journey, no fear, no self-help necessary.

You order the pizza, pick-up the pizza and then you eat it and hopefully it’s the most delicious pizza you’ve ever eaten, and if it’s not, so be it.

The next one will be!

Imagine being clear and concise on what your reality, your world, your life is about…

…and then creating whatever it is you want for yourself, with peace of mind and freedom from the bondage and pain of what others think of you, and more importantly, free from what you once thought of yourself.

That is freedom…

That is power…

That is pleasure…

That is up to you to choose for yourself.

This is the kind of questing we will do when you become the guru in the mirror…

It may sound silly but, “sometimes getting everything you want is kind of like eating pizza“.

When you want pizza, you don’t have to call a therapist, hire a coach, you don’t need to consult your friends, meditate for 90 minutes, or read a book on the 7 steps to successfully ordering and eating pizza.

You order the pizza, pick up the pizza, eat and enjoy.

And if you really love life and pizza, then you go on an adventure to find the best pizza in the world.

And if you really love life and pizza, you might learn how to make it yourself, you may even open a restaurant, you may even become the one who guides others to the most magnificent experiences they have ever dreamed…

Or you may realize, that you love pizza, but you also love __________ ( your dreams, visions and deepest desires ).

And you will have those too.

And now you have discovered your truth…

You can have everything you want in the world and then some.
